Hi, I'm Sarah -
the face behind
Active-Paws-Academy
About me:

8+
years of experience in health, movement & rehabilitation
Dog obsessed, hobby artist and passionate trail-lover.

Does this sound familiar?
You’re an active working team, but you’re worried your training might be putting unnecessary strain on your dog?
You’re motivated to train, but don’t know how to structure warm-ups, cool-downs and recovery so they truly support performance and prevent injuries?
You keep seeing subtle changes in your dog’s movement, motivation or endurance — and you want clarity on how to respond before small issues become real problems?
Let me tell you this:
you're not alone!
So many dog owners feel exactly the same.
We all love our dogs deeply and want the best for our team members.
Now it’s time to get started.

You want to build balanced strength, fix weak spots and avoid compensations — instead of accidentally reinforcing poor patterns or risking overload?
You’re unsure how to adapt training and intensity as your dog progresses — and you want guidance on load management throughout different training phases?

You want your dog to stay fit, strong and injury-free — but you’re unsure how to recognize early signs of overload or when they need a break?
You’ve heard countless opinions on nutrition, supplements and fitness exercises — and you simply want clarity on what’s actually useful for active dogs?

My Mission:
I want to create Awareness for how you, as an active human–dog team, can protect and enhance your dog’s long-term health — through intentional decisions in training, recovery and everyday life..
So you can recognize overload early, prevent injuries and guide your dog safely and healthily through life — instead of unknowingly causing harm.
How I came into the
dog world...

With my dog Bärbel came a whole range of nutrition-related issues, which pushed me to dive deep into feeding methods, nutrients and dietary management.
I know from personal experience how overwhelming and stressful this topic can be.
We’re also very active in training and explore many different disciplines — but our true passion lies in Obedience and movement work. With my Herder puppy Momo I started in Mondioring.
What stood out to me, though, was this:
In almost no course and on almost no training field were topics like warm-up, strength work, sport-specific load, or appropriate nutritional adjustments ever addressed.
As a physiotherapist, that was a clear no-go for me.
So I made it my mission to educate and bring my health expertise into the canine world.
I invested in specialized certifications and further education — so I can support you and your dog in the best, most evidence-based way possible.
And of course, I am officially certified as a dog trainer under §11 of the German Animal Welfare Act (Baden-Württemberg).
My Motto?
Knowledge protects & empowers.
My Qualifications:

Licensed Dog Trainer (according to §11 Sec. 1 German Animal Welfare Act)
Certified Canine Fitness Trainer (Dogtisch Academy)
Certified Canine Nutrition Consultant (Dogtisch Academy)
Certified Canine Historian (Dogtisch Academy)
MVP Trainer (Protection / Obedience) – Certified by STSK9, Nino Draewert (Belgium)
